California DMV Hearing Lawyer

The Law Office of Robert Tayac is dedicated to serving clients in the Bay Area including the San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties. If you were arrested for a DUI or DWI, you will likely be facing an Administrative Per Se Hearing at the Department of Motor Vehicles. The purpose of this DMV hearing is to discuss the circumstances surrounding your arrest and whether you are entitled to driving privileges.

Your DMV hearing is a separate proceeding from your criminal court trial. It is not a determination of your guilt or innocence. It is highly recommended you retain an experienced California DMV Hearing Lawyer to help you through this process.

From the date of your arrest, you or your DUI attorney only have ten (10) calendar days to request a DMV hearing from the DMV's Driver Safety Office. When making a request, it is important to note the date and time of your call, and with whom you spoke. If you are unable to schedule a hearing within thirty (30) days, your attorney should request an extension of your temporary license.

At The Law Office of Robert Tayac, you can expect our criminal defense lawyers to not only successfully represent you in a court of law, but also fight to save your driver's license at the DMV hearing. We will prepare for the hearing in writing, and if necessary, work with doctors, driving schools, or any other related individuals to build an aggressive and effective defense. We will follow up with you, the DMV hearing officer, and others to make sure your driving privileges are reinstated.

San Francisco's Driver Safety Office is located at 1377 Fell St., 2nd Floor, 94117-2296. You may also reach the DSO by phone at (415) 557-1170 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
